In the spring the East Lincoln Betterment Association approached Lincoln County Schools about a partnership to assist with improving students’ health.

Led placement of Free Flowing traffic safety sign at Hwys 16 and 73. Led placement of recycling bins at Beatty’s Ford Park and Little Creek Boat Access. Leading Lincoln County’s NC Big Sweep Spring and Fall Cleanup. Teamed with LKN Covekeepers and Catawba Riverkeepers to produce a best practices brochure to protect Lake Norman. Led 6th Annual Denver Christmas Parade and Community Tree Lighting. Sponsored two non-partisan Candidate Forums.

Hosted an Emergency Preparedness Event with Duke Energy, Lincoln County and FEMA. Hosted Winter Cultural Series: Our History, Where Are We Now, and Dining and Diversity. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.   Led Lincoln County’s NC Big Sweep Spring and Fall LKN Cleanup. Led 3rd, 4th and 5th Annual Denver Christmas Parade and Community Tree Lighting.

Supported building of Beatty’s Ford Park. Participated in Hwy 16 Business Corridor Vision Plan. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.  Supported the County Land Use Plan. Supported County Unified Development Ordinance and East Lincoln Development District Ordinance. Led 1st and 2nd Annual Denver Christmas Parades and Community Tree Lightings.

Promoted Charlotte’s Central Area Transit Authority (CATS) bus service to East Lincoln. Held progressive dinners to benefit area charities. Supported creation of the EL Community Chorus. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.

Placed mail boxes along Hwy 16. Supported an East Lincoln public community center and gym. Hosted an educational forum on alcohol referendum. Hosted opening of new East Lincoln Branch Library. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.

1993 – 1995 Donated $1,000 to four East Lincoln schools, $2,000 to East Lincoln Branch Library, and video equipment to Sheriff’s Department. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.

1988 – 1992 Created newsletters to inform citizens about the community. Led fund raising drive for East Lincoln Park. Helped secure $34,350 of Federal grant funds for East Lincoln Park. Secured toll free local telephone service between Denver and Charlotte. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.

Met with Governor Hunt to promote widening of Hwy 16 into four lanes. Petitioned NCDOT for Hwy 16 improvements Instrumental in the addition of red & caution lights at Hwy 16. Petitioned Board of Commissioners for East Lincoln sewer system. Sponsored non-partisan Candidate Forum.

Studied a County zoning ordinance. Supported early recycling initiative. Provided funding to increase the number of East Lincoln Park ball fields. Provided car counts for NCDOT for Hwy 16 improvements.

Funded road signs for Hwy 16 intersection. Instrumental in attracting one of the area’s first pharmacy & drug stores and two optometrists. Donated $1,000 to establish East Lincoln Rescue Squad.
